The car- plane of terrafugia group that recently got the nod of FAA is a new vista in aviation. it started like a cartoon serial later it became a futuristic fiction seen in films; alas the American and Israelis have made it a reality today.
Nigeria is not ready for that right now; we can experiment with the military in the future for a start. Whereby, we lift three to four military personnel for special assignment, in areas with difficult road terrain.
For civil operations licensing of the personnel will not be a problem, the problem will be the environment,road, poles, banners, public lightening system, insurance e.t.c. They will all challenge the safe operations of this car-plane in Nigeria.
I will not be surprised to see some class conscious Nigerians order for the aircraft in future, they should be prepared for the usual road nuisance, and I mean reckless drivers and roads riddled with potholes. Also will the NCAA be compliant to certify its operation in Nigeria ?
It’s a future thing perhaps we should be looking at 2020 in line with our vision.
