NATIONAL HANGER AGAIN?

Must it be national? The government has gradually withdrawn from all service oriented sectors of the industry and will not see maintenance as an exception; moreover the process of appropriating funds, getting approval from the legislature and other processes that have made the PPP arrangement rancorous will rear its ugly head again.

Successful hangers world over are driven by mega carriers who later spurn them to stand alone business entity, alternatively the airlines go into partnership with reputable maintenance organization or individuals. Therefore the federal government should facilitate the process by providing the necessary logistical support for any organization that is interested in the project.

I support hangers that are privately driven with necessary certification and approval by the regulatory authorities within and outside Nigeria which is a necessary ingredient for sustenance and profitability, these hangers will come if we continue to increase traffic, aircraft acquisition backed by a robust aviation plan.
Lufthansa under the guise of facilitating the national hanger project, got extra flight into abuja using the 6th and 7th freedom and aided the emergence of Julius Berger as winners of the scandalous runway project, while the employment generating hanger project file is gathering dust somewhere.the germans outsmarted Mr Omotoba's team with the frequent flyer carrot
