It was sour news to hear. A man who has shown an appreciable interest in the development of African aviation and airlines in particular to be hindered from completing a good job at a time African airlines are in financial tailspin.
We now know why AFRAA is lagging behind when compared to their counterparts in other regions because the organization is not in a hurry to have a paradigm shift.
Luckily Nick left AFRAA with dignity and will return to the trenches of African aviation a terrain he has walked all his life with a swagger. I know he will not quit the industry and the brand; he spent over two decades building.
The country might probably lose that slot to the Ethiopians now, considering it was not zoned to Nigeria. I just hope we can roll up our sleeves and negotiate for another Nigerian to replace him. That process must start now, using deft aero-political maneuvers
